An outstanding Ukrainian artist, master of Ukrainian figurative painting and landscape art. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1990). Member of the art group “Picturesque Reserve” (1991-1995). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Award of Ukraine (2012). Current member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2021).
Together with the winners of the International Art Forum “Golden Easel” (2024), he painted a unique monumental composition “Angels of Peace” on flexible glass, 17 meters long and 14.40 meters high, which was awarded a Guinness World Record certificate for the uniqueness of the painting and its scale.

Biographical information
Born on September 11, 1946, in Yahotyn, Kyiv region (Ukraine). In 1976, he graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute, Faculty of Painting (V. Puzyrkov’s studio).
From 1992 to 1995, Kryvolap was an active member of the “Picturesque Reserve” — an influential group of artists in the modern history of Ukrainian art. In the 2000s, he moved from Kyiv to the village of Zasupoivka near Yahotyn, where he lives and works.
Since 1976, he has been a regular participant in regional and international exhibitions.
In 2011, Anatolii Kryvolap’s works twice set world records for sales of contemporary Ukrainian art on the international art market. The first record was set in May 2011, when his painting “Steppe” was sold at a Phillips de Pury & Co auction in New York for $98,500[1]. And in October, at a Phillips de Pury & Co contemporary art auction in London, the work “Horse. Night” was sold for $124,400[2]. Since then, his paintings have been sold for even higher prices[3].
On February 9, 2012, the list of winners of the 2012 Shevchenko Award was announced. Anatoliy Kryvolap won in the “visual arts” category (for a series of 50 works entitled “Ukrainian Motif”)[4].
A member of the Taras Shevchenko National Award of Ukraine Committee since December 2016[5].
In 2019–2023, he created paintings for the restored Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin in the village of Lipivka, Makariv district, Kyiv region[6].

Publications
The Kyiv publishing house Atlant UMC, on the initiative of patron Yurii Komelkov, published three art albums dedicated to the work of Anatolii Kryvolap. Two albums by the artist were published in the “Painting” series (2006, 2008). The third book, “Anatolii Kryvolap. Structures” (2009), was published under the auspices of the National Art Museum of Ukraine. The albums are in Ukrainian and English[9].
Awards
