The head of the art school “Kolorit” – the artist Maya Ananieva, graduated from the Art High School – Sofia, then majored in “Painting” at the “St. Cyril and Methodius” University of Fine Arts. She is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists and the International Association for Plastic Arts at UNESCO. She has 27 solo exhibitions. She has participated in 15 professional international and national plein airs. Her works have participated in hundreds of exhibitions, art salons, collective exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. She is the winner of a Special Prize from the First International Painting Competition “EVORA 2015” in Portugal, and is entitled to a solo exhibition at the ‘Teoartis’ Gallery in the city of Evora. She is the winner of the “Jury Prize” at the “National Watercolor Exhibition 2022” – Burgas. She is nominated for the Painting Prize at the National Competition “Allianz Bulgaria” in 2015, 2017 and 2019 and Nomination for the “Pimen Zograf” Award in 2017, 2019 and 2021. She is the winner of an Award and a Plaque at the National Exhibition “Autumn Salon 2021” in the city of Sevlievo. She was distinguished as a selected author for the permanent exhibition at the “Fabriano” Watercolor Museum in Italy. Her works are owned by dozens of Art Galleries in Bulgaria and abroad and have been printed in art catalogs in different countries. For her high achievements as the head of the art school “Colorit” she was awarded a Special Certificate of the Central Art Academy “Chubi” in Tokyo – Japan. She is the holder of the highest awards for art pedagogue in dozens of countries – Gold medals and plaques, Special awards, Unique prizes, Honorary badges, diplomas, certificates… She was a member of the international jury of competitions in Poland, Germany and Belarus. She has led master classes in fine arts in Italy, Russia, Portugal, Slovenia, Ukraine, Hong Kong, USA. She is the curator for Bulgaria of international art projects with Portugal, Ukraine, Russia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Romania, India, Iran. She is the holder of the prestigious International Award “Best Art Educator in the World” for 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, awarded by the International Committee of “CHARUMELA” in Bangladesh. She is the winner of the award for the best art pedagogue named after “Prof. Dr. Bogomil Karlavaris” at the International Art Festival “Little Bitola Montmartre in Macedonia – 2017. She is the winner of the “Award for the best art pedagogue” at the International Competition “NOVA ZAGORA 2022”, the Grand Prize from “EVORA 2022” in Portugal, she was awarded the Honorary Award of UNESCO – France for 2023 and 2024. She is the winner of the National Award named after Prof. Dr. Ivan Shishmanov”, she is the winner of the Statuette and “Award for working with young generations” 2017 of the Rotary Club – Pleven. She was awarded the “Golden Plaque” by the American Biographical Institute for contribution to world culture and is a member of its information board since 2001. For her entire creative activity, she was awarded the title of “Honored Citizen” of the city of Pleven in 2004.
