Founder of the International Art Forum “Unbreakable Golden Easel”, the Charitable Organization Charitable Foundation “Lviv Children’s Gallery”, art critic and art theorist; designer and architect, publisher; editor-in-chief of the All-Ukrainian educational and art magazine “Artklas”, which was founded with the aim of popularizing both professional and phenomenal children’s creativity in its columns by Olga Mykhailiuk – a collector of children’s art, an outstanding figure in public education of Ukraine; senior lecturer at the Department of Humanities Education of the State Educational Service Since 2003, Olga Mykhailiuk has been organizing and successfully implementing various cultural, educational and outreach programs and projects to promote the creative development of gifted children, children’s and youth art groups, to help children with special needs develop their abilities and adapt to the social and cultural environment. To popularize the phenomenon of children’s art in Ukraine and the world, she founded:
- The first children’s art gallery in Lviv (now the “Lviv Municipal Children’s Gallery” in virtual space);
- A children’s gallery with virtual halls (see: on the columns of artclass.lviv.ua);
- The children’s gallery “Golden Easel” in the open air on St. George’s Square in Lviv (the only one in the world) and opened the Land of Angels on its basis;
- The children’s gallery “Golden Easel” in the open air in the center of Lviv “On the Ramparts” and along Lychakivska Street;
- The Golden Easel Children’s Art Gallery at the Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, opened on the territory of Stryi Park, now virtual;
- The Golden Easel Children’s Gallery in the East of Ukraine, opened at the Museum of Local Lore in the city of Stanytsia Luhanska, now annexed by Putin;
- The annual International Children’s Art Forum and the Golden Easel Competition.
Olga Mykhailiuk founded the Golden Easel Grand Prix in 2005 made of precious metal and diamond and since 2024 has been the founder of this prize, which was awarded annually to the winners of the Golden Easel International Competition.
At the beginning of 2022, she opened the Peace Relay and traveling exhibitions of the International Art Form “Unbreakable Golden Easel” to tell the truth about Ukraine’s struggle for freedom and the European choice in children’s language on all continents of the world.
In order to popularize Ukrainian culture, she founded the publishing house “Artklas” to publish original books on Ukrainian and world art, publish her own scientific research and monographs aimed at the revival of the national cultural heritage of Ukrainian art.
Olga Mykhailiuk also teaches at the Department of Humanities of the Faculty of Contemporary Art of the Ukrainian State University of Applied Sciences and provides methodological assistance to teachers of secondary schools – students of advanced training courses in the art field. To this end, she has prepared 49 scientific publications for publication, including a series of scientific and methodological manuals for teachers of artistic and aesthetic disciplines, including: 5 volumes of the series “Artistic Culture of Ukraine”, 3 volumes of the series “Architecture”, some of which received the Seal of the Ministry of Education and National University, methodological recommendations for studying the innovative experience of outstanding modern teachers, a program and manual on fine arts recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for students of grades 5-7 of secondary schools in Ukraine.
She prepared a layout for a publication about her own research, as well as research by art historians and theologians about the outstanding personality of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky and his role in the development of Ukrainian culture at the beginning of the 20th century, created a design and published a five-volume edition of “Moses of the Ukrainian Spirit”.
For her significant contribution to the development of national culture and art, O. D. Mykhailiuk was awarded numerous diplomas and thanks.
