S. Grichanok – head of the methodical association of the fine arts profile of the Kharkiv Lyceum of Arts No. 133, a specialist of the Highest Category, a teacher-methodologist, author and curator of children’s projects

2004,2013 – Awarded with Honorary Diplomas of the Ukrainian Culture Foundation

2011 – received the “Golden Easel” award from the ICF “Children’s Gallery” (Lviv)

2013 – received the scholarship “The Talent of a Mentor – the Success of a Student”

from the Fund for Supporting Young Talents (Kharkiv)

S.F. Grichanok gave speeches at conferences in Kharkiv, Kyiv; Lviv, Klaipeda (Lithuania); conducted master classes at international festivals in Lviv, Putyvl and Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine), in the Carpathians, in Volyn. His articles were published in the publications “Ukrainian Forum” and “Gifted Child” (Kyiv); in the magazines “Art-Class” (Lviv) and “Art and Education” (Kyiv)

He was the curator of more than 50 joint international projects: USA (1993, 2018-2026); Germany (2002, 2005, 2011); Armenia (2003), Bulgaria (2007, 2009, 2015_; Hong Kong (2011, 2015); Poland (2012); Czech Republic (2014), Japan (2022), Malaysia (2023), Ireland (2023), Greece (2023).

S.F. Grichanok is the organizer of more than 100 children’s vernissages, 40 personal exhibitions of his students’ works in Kharkiv and far beyond its borders. He is a participant in children’s plein airs in North Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Austria.

Mr. Serhiy was the coordinator of the Biennale “From 5 to 10”, which was born in 1999 in Kharkiv and lasted until 2011 and thanks to his efforts became international – 30 countries of the world participated).

His students became prize-winners at international competitions in Kyiv, Lviv; Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk. They had awards in the following countries: Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Macedonia, Germany, Portugal, France. Austria, Finland, Turkey, Israel, Iran, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan.

Grichanok’s students participated in forums in Copenhagen, London, Geneva, Hanover (EXPO – 2000), Nuremberg, Cincinnati, 11 times became winners of the All-Ukrainian review “New Names of Ukraine”.

S.F. Grichanok participated in the work of the international jury in Torun (Poland, 2011), Hong Kong (China, 2011, 2013-2015). Lidice (Czech Republic. 2013), Bitola (Macedonia, 2015); was the Chairman of the Jury at competitions in Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv.

Many years of cooperation with the Lviv Children’s Gallery Foundation give new impetus to work on children’s projects, and mutual support helps to further promote children’s art. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, much has been achieved together both in Ukraine and beyond its borders: Hungary, Norway, Bulgaria, Portugal, Israel, the USA, Japan, Malaysia.

The teacher himself has over 200 thanks and diplomas, repeatedly from the Departments of Culture of the City Executive Committee and the Regional State Administration, from the mayor, the Regional Department of Education and the mayors of the twin cities of Varna (Bulgaria), Nuremberg (Germany).

Mr. Serhiy works creatively as an artist. Since 2015, almost 20 personal exhibitions have been held in Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk and the region, Uzhhorod, Kyiv, Krakow.
